Eat your heart out Carrie Bradshaw. Line way too long at Magnolia? Really tired of the tourists on the "Sex and City" Tour? West Villagers now have another option when it comes to indulging their sweet tooth.
Manhattan’s first mobile gourmet cupcake truck, the CupcakeStop, celebrated the opening of their new store, the CupCakeStop Shop, at 70 Greenwich Avenue. As could be expected, there was a whole lot of frosting, sprinkles, and chocolate involved!

Started up in May 2009 by founder Lev Ekster, you may have seen CupcakeStop roaming the streets of New York City in truck form.  Ekster was featured on The Food Network where CupcakeStop was named best cupcake on Food Feuds.

Now they’ve set up their Flagship store in the West Village.   They have over 60 varieties of cupcakes in total, but they change it up to show between 12 to 15 different flavors each day.  Obviously, they have the important staples of vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes, but also have great creative flavors including peanut butter, chocolate chip cookie dough, funfetti, apple pie, almond joy, chocolate caramel pretzel, carrot cake, Oreo crumb, key lime, s’mores… the list goes on and on!

They come in mini sizes, too!  Along with cupcakes, they have cookies, muffins, brownies, blondies, cheesecakes, and croissants.  Talk about sugar overload, I ate so many that I started freaking out filled with sugar and excitement.
We got the inside scoop that the store was designed by someone who designs one of my favorite stores. Gasp!  No wonder why the shop is so well-lit, the decor so delicate, and each cupcake on display proudly and prominently.
