Wednesday, August 17, 2011

As reported back in February, Rockefeller Center is set to welcome a new chophouse in the form of Del Frisco's Grille, a more casual offshoot of the brand's national steakhouse. When it opens on Saturday, guests can expect some familiar signature items (steaks natch, crab cakes) alongside more affordably priced options including wood-oven baked flatbreads, "two-fisted" sandwiches, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink salads and hearty pastas such as beef stroganoff.
As
Meant to appeal to a slightly younger, less business-based demographic, the spacious interior (which is about five times smaller than its NYC original) is designed in a modern style with oversized lamps, large leather banquettes and an exposed industrial ceiling featuring rough-sawn wood planks. A polished brass bar with overhead TVs will greet guests upon entrance (it's a good spot to order small plates). As for the soundtrack, expect recognizable rock bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers to help set the mood. When weather appropriate, outdoor seating in the plaza will also be available.
