Motivational Quote of Day: Excerpt from Trent Shelton's upcoming book Tattooed Truths

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Excerpt from Trent Shelton's upcoming book  "Tattooed Truths".......Post this on your mirror!!!

Dear You,
You were never the type of person to grab the towel and throw it in! You were never the type of person to just go through the motions! As long as I have known you, I've NEVER seen failure get the best of you!
So when did opportunity become a burden? When did complaining become helpful? Look at me, don’t put your head down! I’m not feeling sorry for you any longer. I remember when opportunity meant the world to you and now you're scared to try because of people’s opinions! You use to work on your dreams until you could work no more. I would have to force you to take a break.

Man, I remember the days when I could look into your eyes and see THE DETERMINATION, THE FIGHT, AND THE PASSION that you had towards your dreams. Now I see NOTHING. You turned your back on me. YOU EMBARRASSED ME! I'm not a quitter but because of you I'm now labeled this also! They now have the right to question our dedication, our commitment , and even our integrity! It hurts me but what hurts even more is that I KNOW THAT'S NOT YOU!

I've never seen you to slow down before the finish line, I've never seen you quit because of pain, and I NEVER seen you give less than your all. That is NOT who you are. Yea, I might be overreacting but I'm hard on you because I care. People depend on you INCLUDING me, so I will NOT let you let us down. I know it's only a day you took off, but a day off doesn't exist to a champion. Especially if that day was a scheduled day to get better. Just don't let it happen again. I'm not going to let you slip!

P.S. Your opponent has gained an edge on you!

Happy Thanksgiving From THE HFM GROUP!!

Thursday, November 24, 2011

                                                 Happy Thanksgiving!!!

If you can't think of anything to be thankful for, be thankful for waking up everyday.

I’m Thankful for You
Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.
We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let’s be on the lookout
for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who
bring love and light to everyone
who is blessed to know them.
You are one of those people.
On Thanksgiving,
I’m thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
By Joanna Fuchs

Count Your Blessings!
Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

Video of the day -Le' Andria Johnson - Make Him like You

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Le’Andria Johnson’s new video “Make Him Like You” shows why she is  is one of the most promising female vocalists in gospel music today.

Watch the video and tell us what you think.

The Season Three BET Sunday Best champ’s estimable talent is evident on her debut CD, The Awakening of Le’Andria Johnson. The album material proves that the 28-year-old’s voice is marinated, well beyond its years, in the heartbreaks and deliverances of life.
Hers is a gospel blues voice that has known pain and demons but can exorcise them, as she does on the current single, “Jesus.” When on the “Sunday Best Medley 2,” she sings, “I may have lost my house/but God has got a mansion for me,” it comes not from the lexicon of gospel music metaphors but from the raw wounds of personal experience. It’s what propelled her past Elder Goldwire McClendon of the Savettes, someone who was singing gospel before Johnson’s parents were born, in the finals of Sunday Best.

"The Awakening" album already in stores now!

We think she hit it on the nose , I want a Godly Man of Integrity designed by God himself JUST FOR ME!

Enjoy and get Lifted !

Motivational Poem of the Day - A Woman's Worth

I saw this and fell in Love with it .

So I just had to share it with you guys :)

Never Forget your Worth!

A Woman's Worth

A woman's beauty is not only
In the glow of her skin
But the depth of her eyes
And the warmth of her heart

A woman's strength is not only
In the bow of her back
But the magnitude of her tears
And the softness of her words

A woman's wisdom is not only
In the value of her words
But the knowledge of when to hold them
And the journey she takes to learn them

A woman's courage is not only
In her determination to fight
But her willingness to walk away
And confidence to say no

A woman's grace is not only
In the way she dances through her day
But in the love notes she leaves
And the wonderful meals she prepares

A woman's love is not only
In the kisses she gives
But in the sacrifices she makes
And the moments given to you alone

A woman's worth is not only
In the things she does
But who she truly is
And who she helps you become

"Courage is like a muscle,  We strengthen it with use" - Ruth Gordon

RIP Boxer Joe Frazier January 12, 1944 – November 7, 2011

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

In Memory of  World Heavyweight Boxer

"The man with the greatest left hook "

Joe Frazier also known as Smokin' Joe, was a former Olympic and Undisputed World Heavyweight boxing champion, whose professional career lasted from 1965 to 1976, with a brief comeback in 1981. Frazier had 29 consecutive victories.

Frazier emerged as the top contender in the late 1960s, defeating the likes of Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Buster Mathis, Eddie Machen, Doug Jones, George Chuvalo and Jimmy Ellis en route to becoming undisputed heavyweight champion in 1970, and followed up by defeating Muhammad Ali on points in the highly-anticipated "Fight of the Century" in 1971. Two years later Frazier lost his title when he was knocked out by George Foreman. He fought on, beating Joe Bugner, losing a rematch to Ali, and beating Quarry and Ellis again.

Mohammed Ali : "The world has lost a great champion I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration,' Ali said in a statement about the death of his great rival. 'My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones."

Floyd Mayweather (via Twitter): RIP Smokin’ Joe. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Frazier family. We lost an all time great tonight. My condolences go out to the family of the late great Joe Frazier. #TheMoneyTeam will pay for his funeral services.
Manny Pacquiao: Boxing lost a great champion, and the sport lost a great ambassador. My prayers go out to his family.
Oscar De La Hoya (via Twitter): I will miss you my friend. R.I.P. Joe Frazier
Shane Mosley (via Twitter): Joe Frazier one of the greatest heavyweight champion (sic) ever. RIP.

Joe Frazier's rivalry with Muhammed Ali will always be remembered as one of the greatest rivalries in a golden era for heavyweight boxing

The two unbeaten fighters came together on March 8, 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.Reigning heavyweight champion Joe Frazier went into the fight with a 26-0 record, while challenger Muhammad Ali had an even more impressive 31 wins from 31 fights.

Promoters had bulled it as the 'Fight of the Century' before the first punch was thrown - and it certainly lived up to the hype, going the full 15 rounds.

Early in that final round Frazier landed a spectacular left hook that put Ali on his back for only the third time in his career. A few minutes later the judges made it official: Frazier had retained the title with a unanimous decision, dealing Ali his first professional loss.

The second fight on January 28, 1974, also in New york, is regarded as the least significant of the three fights, but gave Ali a chance to gain revenge for his defeat three years earlier.
That second fight set up the famous 'Thrilla in Manila'.
In the searing heat of Philippines the two men contested one of the greatest bouts of the 20th century.

Before the fight Ali boasted to his trainers that he was going to 'put a whuppin' on Frazier.
In  the early round he did just that but Frazier refused to go down or stop coming forward, frustrating Ali, who screamed 'You stupid chump, you!' at Frazier in the fourth round.

As Ali began to tire Frazier was able to dominate the middle rounds.
At the beginning of the seventh round, Ali reportedly whispered in Frazier's ear: 'Joe, they told me you was all washed up', to which Frazier replied: 'They told you wrong, pretty boy.'

Frazier began to slow down and tire, and Ali slowly turned the tide, unloading a series of fast combinations on Frazier. In round 14, Frazier was almost blind as he stepped in, and was met once more with punishing blows from Ali.

Eddie Futch decided to stop the fight between rounds rather than risk a similar or worse fate for Frazier in the 15th. Frazier protested stopping the fight, shouting 'I want him boss,' and trying to get Futch to change his mind. Futch simply replied: 'It's all over. No one will forget what you did here today.'
